The word “murabba” derives from the Arabic mirabba (مربى), meaning “jam” or “fruit preserve”.
In Pakistan, it is universally known as Gajar Ka Murabba or Gajjaraan Da Murabba and is a staple in many households – especially during winter when sweet, red carrots are at their peak. It is enjoyed as a dessert, a daily health tonic, or alongside parathas at breakfast.
